I am the owner and photographer. Photography is my passion. I love capturing precious moments and present them to my clients so they can cherish those moments forever!
Photography has provided me an outlet for my creative energy. It helps me to get out in the community and meet people from diversified backgrounds. I see many of my clients routinely every year. Sometime, I see them multiple times a year. I like to offer my photography services in an uniquely personalized way; go that extra mile to make the participants feel special.
I have been doing wildlife and nature photography for a long time, specifically showcasing beauty of nature and wild life in Manitoba - whether its a beautiful sunset in the heart of the city or wildlife photography in national parks.
This has resulted my photos to be published in international magazines. My photos submitted to international photo groups have been acknowledged as best in its category multiple times
Then a self-realization occurred and I thought what if I take it to the next step and go out and be a part of the even bigger world, be a part of the community. What could be better than bringing a happy smile on someone’s face, offer an affordable yet quality photography services. Thats how my journey began as a professional photographer.
Photos speak a thousand words. A portrait capturing an unique mood or a beautiful creation after post processing. I like to learn and try out new techniques that can make my work more fun.
I also speak and understand ethnic languages such as Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali which is very helpful during photo shoots booked by newly immigrated people whose mother tongue is not english.
In addition to weddings, newborn, maternity and family photoshoots I have also diversified my photography skills for taking photos in events, conferences, baptism, christening, tea parties, photoshoot models, aspiring actors, music bands, food photography in restaurants.
Quality photography, great customer service during the photo shoot and after the job is done has been an integral part of my business. Offering my clients a happy experience, an affordable price, a good customer service before, during and after the job is done helps me develop a lifelong relationship with my clients. I don’t see my job as one time done and forgotten. I use the best of my ability to make the photoshoot experience equally enjoyable for my clients as much as I enjoy doing the photoshoot for them.
My husband and I started our life in Winnipeg as international graduate students almost three decades ago. After obtaining a post graduate degree he pursued to be an engineer in private industry. I obtained my training in medical research and pursued to be a research staff focussing on lung physiology and lung health in children. University of Manitoba and Childrens Hospital has been my life long employer. My boys now 23 and 20 year old were born here. We decided to make Winnipeg our home.
I was born in India. God and Winnipeg has been very kind to me and my family. But no matter how life has been I have always missed my parents and relatives back in India. Pursuing photography and going out in the community has helped me, eliminate the void of missing my loved ones. Whether it’s a multi generation family photo session or a birthday or a wedding or a special event, each and every session has connected with my heart in its own way.
My journey continues to evolve from being an international student, a wife, a mother of a child with special needs, a research scientist, a photographer, an entrepreneur!
My goal is to continue doing my best and offer my clients, best value and experience for their money spent. Please check out and follow my work in my Facebook page “Basu Photography Services”.
