This couple portrait session was to celebrate the recently marked 50 wedding anniversary of this fabulous couple.
They had requested to keep it simple yet elegant and nothing too cheesy.
Keeping that in mind the poses for the session were planned that would be close to what they had envisioned and look good when framed.
I wanted to maintain a variety for the images not only with different backdrops but also pieces of furniture to be use such as a bright color bench, a metal stool and of course two different colours of backdrops.
In studio sessions are very comfortable and takes care of the adversities of weather elements compared to outdoor sessions.
One challenge was, the couple intended to have their glasses on throughout the session. Studio strobes and light coming through the studio windows created a bit of hurdle however it was solved by turning the strobes away from facing the individuals and using shades to minimize the window light.
I did not want to cut of all the light source and to keep the ISO low, dimmable lights were also of some help.
At the end and after an extended session the portraits were achievable and looked great.
