Awkward photo session J C Penny style- Winnipeg family photographer

Awkward photo session JC Penny style is one of my favourite. It brings out the funny creative side of not just the photographer but the participants as well. This session looks amazing in studio and is totally doable with participants of any ages.

I will always request my clients to bring an example or two of poses or pictures to get an idea of their expectation from the session. Some time they will bring an old picture done years ago and would llke to reinvent the pose as a grownup.

Funny smily poses that was thought would be impossible or unachievable is actually obtained from this particular type of photo session. Awkward poses while standing, sitting or hybrid is my choice of poses.

I will always keep couple of different color of backdrops, preferably darker shades  to add some glamour and glitz to the final photos. It is wonderful to see how the participants open up so quickly and so keen to follow the poses suggested, while rolling on the ground or laughing out loud during the session.

Best results are obtained when poses are creatively crafted on ability of the participants and what looks hilariously good in front of the camera.

Right camera angle and proper positioning of studio lights are important factors to consider when planning these sessions in studio.

Results from this session was very well received by the participants.
