Newborn photographers are already familiar with their session with newborns which takes time, plenty of patience and handling skills.

This session was not just the newborn but was accompanied by parents, grandma, aunty and her two kids. So I had a handful. I knew that I had to be super organized about the flow so every participant can get their share of holding the baby and pictures taken.

Baby girl was only 10 days old and therefore was super nice to pose and handle amongst the participants in between the shots. She was very content and calm.

I prefer to use the swaddle wrap when the newborn is accompanied by extended family members. It not only keeps the baby calm but easier to pose and handle especially with younger clients less than 10 years old.

Baby was accessorized with matching head bands with her swaddle wraps. Photos were taken is standing, sitting and using sitting stools. These poses not only give a variety but is also easier for the participants to hold and pose with the baby.

Multigenerational session with newborn takes some time to get used to with the vive of the group and therefore I try to plan my session based on their energy level, enthusiasm to participate and temperament of the baby that day. A fussy baby or babies needing frequent feeds or wanting to be held continuously, always takes time.

But once the baby settles down the session usually goes smooth and uninterrupted. With younger children wanting to hold the baby ,I prefer to take their pictures in a sitting position either on the carpet or cushion chairs.

Mom and dad enjoyed the session so did the other participants. Pictures came out beautiful.
