Tips for birthday session photos of a two year old at home- Winnipeg photographer

This birthday photo session of a two year old was arranged at the celebrant`s own residence.

In home birthday photos can be taken very easily if there is a clear wall or two where the decorations can be placed. Good lighting is the key and I prefer natural lights accompanied by external camera flash.

Small chairs or desk can be used to make the celebrant sit or stand for portrait shots.

I also used a table cloth spreader on the floor and made the birthday boy smash and eat his special cake. He was able to sit comfortably and will not move too much. That gave enough time to capture some priceless expressions.

In terms of physical objects or props were the birthday cake, gift from his parents which was the big red car that he loved to showcase and a big teddy bear from his toy collection.

Birthday cake was adorned with a number 2 candle, walls were decorated with birthday banners, colored ballons and a big ballon that said 2.

He was wearing white shirt with black pant and hat on his head. A few pics were taken in those.

During the cake cutting the hat was taken off so the expressions of his happy face could be captured.

Before the cake smash, white shirt was taken out and have the galliis on the shoulder visible. This looked really nice in the composition where he has some cake remnants and color smudged on his face.

The birthday photo session was truly memorable for this happy two year old. He was very comfortable at his own place and gave me plenty of opportunity to get some excellent photos.
